Women Go Red
A room full of nearly 200 women got together recently to do their part in fighting the leading cause of death for women in America, cardiovascular disease...and Callis was there! The 2010 Go Red for Women benefit was recently held in Sedalia, Missouri in support of the American Heart Association. The seventh annual fundraising event helped raise awareness about women’s heart health and cardiovascular disease. Information booths, door prizes, a fashion show, and the first ever auction of “Aprons with Heart” were some of the featured highlights of the event. Callis was one of several businesses in the community that designed and crafted an apron for the auction. Adrianne Fillinger, one of our graphic designers, modeled our hand-crafted apron of polka-dots, fringe, and a red heart at the event. The hard work and talent paid off as our Callis apron brought a winning bid of $125! Proceeds from the benefit were given to support the American Heart Association’s funding for women’s heart research in Missouri hospitals. |
