A Lesson from the Heartland For some it may be considered a region that lacks the glamour and glitz of the city life, while others consider it to be one of the best kept secrets the business world has to offer. Welcome to the Midwest. It is home of the one index finger wave, where city meets rural living and family means everything. This is the land where hard work, honesty, hospitality and diversity mix to create and fuel an alluring trait known as Midwestern charm. Midwestern charm is not a trait that is taught; it is instilled in both the young and old and comes from experiencing day to day living in a region where values, work ethic and relationships rank high in importance. Dreams of bigger and better do exist, but it is the comfort of home and a sense of pride that are not easy to overlook or leave behind. Midwesterners weather all four seasons, seasons that shine bright and seasons that force upon us the most dangerous and frightful storms. These seasons nevertheless, depict that which defines the Midwest. Centrally located, many Midwesterners are more than willing to jump a border or two for a getaway, but it is the feeling of home and the passion for what they do that never fails to bring them back. It is the openness to get away and experience new places and meet new people that allow us to bring the best of that place, back to our place to make it a better world. After all, we are all part of one world, although it may seem that we sometimes live and work worlds apart. The Midwest, the Heartland, the core of the United States; it is charming and it is a great place to do business.
