Callis & Associates Vice President Jim Shoemaker recently participated in the National Shooting Sports Foundation Summit in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The exclusive event, which included only 250 participants, represented diverse areas of the shooting sports industry, such as manufacturing, distribution, media, marketing research and conservation. The summit was the sixth meeting of its kind, but the first summit to be held since 2002.
Content presented at the summit included shooting sports trends outlined by researchers based on three years of public opinion findings. The purpose of the summit is to use the intelligence gathered to develop new programs and policies to attract, retain and re-introduce participants into the shooting sports.
“This was a great way to learn firsthand the direction the industry is heading,” said Shoemaker. “The information taken away from this summit will be vital to our planning efforts for our shooting sports clients.”
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the premier trade association for the shooting, hunting and firearms industry. Formed in 1961, the NSSF is a non-profit organization with a membership of 2,500 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, sportsmen's organizations and publishers.
