Chris Young, Callis & Associate's Interactive Director, returned from the BOLO2009 Conference energized and excited. Young was anxious to share with co-workers and clients the concepts and ideas presented to the attendees during the BOLO2009 conference.

BOLO2009 was an interactive industry conference designed to stimulate interactive managers on how to best reach the technologically advanced consumer base found in the world today. Marketing to thousands of Internet savvy consumers requires interactive managers to keep pace by attending learning conferences such as BOLO.

BOLO is defined as Business Online/Life Online. That quick definition is a taste of the future regarding both emerging and social media. Those topics and others were covered during the 3-day conference held recently in Scottsdale, Arizona.

BOLO attendees are specifically involved with media relations and interactive marketing firms. Designed as an interactive agency only forum, the conference explored ways agencies can better learn to serve their clients by helping them connect their brands to their markets.

Opinion leaders such as Google's Jim Lecinski and former Apple Fellow, Guy Kawasaki presented a range of ideas during the inaugural conference. “Whether the discussions covered new technologies, mobile marketing or social media opportunities, each attendee seemed to have a better understanding of interactive marketing at the end of each day,” according to Young. “The better we understand where our clients need to be, the better we can serve those clients.”
