FMG Publications recently hosted the 8th Annual Shooting Industry Masters at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Nebraska and Team Callis was there! Callis & Associates Vice President, Jim Shoemaker; Robert Hayden of Starline Brass; Caroll Pilant with Sierra Bullets and Rob Parham of Buffer Technologies, represented the agency at the competitive event.

The three-gun shooting match featured handguns, rifles and shotguns. Teams were made up of four to five professionals within the industry and media. Shooters were able to compete in one of two classes; either the open class of professional shooters or the industry class for recreational shooters. More than 300 individuals competed in the event, with over 60 teams from 36 states. Many of the biggest names in the shooting industry competed in this prestigious event.

With intentions to keep the competition fun, shooting scores were not published, but the top teams from each class and division were announced Saturday evening at the Masters Award Banquet.

A record-setting 23 sponsors supported the two-day event that benefited the National Shooting Sports Foundation's First Shots program that introduces new shooters to firearm safety and shooting sports. Overall, FMG has raised approximately $80,000 to support NSSF programs.

“Team Callis was unique in that we represented four different companies involved in the shooting sports industry, rather than all coming from the same organization. I think we found our shooting skills to be equally diverse as well,” said Shoemaker.
