Callis & Associates Vice President Jim Shoemaker recently participated in the Sixth National Shooting Sports Foundation Summit in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is one of the premier trade associations for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry.
Even though this was the sixth meeting of its kind, the NSSF hasn't held a summit since 2002. The event drew an exclusive group of 250 participants representing shooting sports manufacturers, distributors, media, marketing research and conservation.
The action items presented as part of the NSSF Shooting Sports Summit were developed by researchers based on three years of public opinion research. The purpose of the summit is to take the intelligence gathered concerning the public opinions of shooters and non-shooters alike, and meld them into coherent new programs and policies to attract, retain and re-introduce participants into the shooting sports.
“This was a great way to learn firsthand the direction the industry is heading,” said Shoemaker. “The information taken away from this summit will be vital to our planning efforts for our shooting sports clients.”
