Weird Promotional Items

It’s easy to fall into the trap of handing out time-tested promotional items. However, the gizmo that drew attention ten years ago may have lost its wow factor today…and people can only use so many wall calendars or click-pens. But I’m sure that on occasion, we’ve all run into a piece of specialty advertising that stretches the bounds of what is normal and expected – or even steps right over that boundary and lands squarely in “just plain weird” territory. 

Case in point: a doctor friend thought I’d get a kick out of a stress ball that a pharmaceutical company had given to him. It was in the shape of… an enlarged prostate. Interestingly enough, though I’ve thrown away or misplaced every blue “earth” stress ball that I’ve ever received, I know the precise spot in my house where I can put my hands on the prostate stress ball, should the appropriate occasion ever arise.
